Festive Weekends

Last weekend we got to see the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall (a family tradition). I think we came up with a new tradition, Trevor singing opera in front of thousands of theater patrons.

Every year, the conductor invites audience members (usually kids) to chime in with the choir singing "The 12 Days of Christmas". They get to sing the "5 Gold Rings" part. Trevor decided this was his year to go forward.

The kid in front of him was good too - he said "5 Gold Eggs" instead of Rings.

If the video doesn't work, you can watch it via youtube by clicking here.

We had great seats and the Orchestra played beautifully as always. After that we went to Sergio's Sarava in Shaker Square. I got the best apple & brie salad with some rice & beans on the side.

On Sunday Mary and I went to JoAnn's to look at sewing machines and had to make a few other stops as well. Pier One is a must this time of year.. even just to get decorating ideas. While we were out and about Dad and RJ took the urban boys to Laser Quest - RJ aka "Maverick" got the highest score. We met for dinner at Jerzees, a local place with great wings, pizzas and sandwiches.. we really ate well that weekend!

We miss Georgia and all of our family there (especially this time of year when it gets cold and snowy) but this is a big part of the reason we moved home. We love being close to our parents and sisters. I just wish Drew and Lindsay were closer.

I will say, every winter I start thinking about Florida (or California would work too). I think the solution is that we "need" a winter home.

On that note, I'm buying some lottery tickets.
